CPW attends MIPIM 2024
This week CPW are attending MIPIM 2024, one of the largest real estate and property events in the world. Every year our team travels to the south of France to join thousands of others in the sector for three days of discussion, development and opportunity. This year is no different, and we recently caught up with Associate Director Andreas Kouyialis who is attending this year’s event.
CPW has a long history of attending MIPIM, why does the business keep going back?
MIPIM is truly a festival of opportunity. It’s a fantastic chance to catch up face-to-face with others in the built environment industry in a space that is all about collaboration and showcasing what the industry is really all about. Whether we are seeing new faces or familiar ones, the breadth of knowledgeable conversations that are made possible at MIPIM is always an occasion we love to be a part of.
MIPIM is an event that facilitates industry growth, and those four days can be so valuable for both the business and individuals. It’s important to have an international event where we can learn from others in the industry and take our new ideas home with us. It provides an opportunity to discuss some of the most critical challenges that our industry currently faces: the climate crisis, loss of nature and biodiversity, the drive for net zero carbon, the UK Housing crisis, the limitations of our existing infrastructure. It’s incredibly fulfilling and educational to be part of a change-making movement and it’s what keeps us coming back each year.
We’ve had the pleasure of seeing the event grow alongside our own growth as a business and since our first MIPIM event in 2014, it’s been circled as one of the core industry events.
How has CPW grown since MIPIM 2023?
2023 was a great year for the business and seeing all we have achieved makes me excited to see where we will go next.
Key highlights from the past year included our inclusion within King Charles III: The Leadership and Vision of a Modern Monarch for our continued sustainability efforts as a business, being awarded the CIBSE West Midlands project of the year award for our 10 Brindley Place project in Birmingham and the business being highlighted for our efforts in supporting the decarbonisation of healthcare estates within NHS’s 75th birthday celebratory book.
We’ve also made significant progress in the past year in line with the changing industry. Our increased focus on decarbonisation through new services such as the NHS Net Zero Coordinator role is something we’re keen to promote.
There’s a team of four attending this year covering several of CPW’s UK offices – how important is regional representation at an event like MIPIM?
The needs of each UK region are so distinct, we feel it’s indispensable to have someone who understands the specific market and developments for each area at MIPIM. This also helps us to generate more valuable networking opportunities by targeting others who are looking to collaborate in the same regions.
There’s still time to book in a catch up with our MIPIM team! See who’s attending and book a call.
