CPW launches Design Engineering For All campaign

CPW are pleased to launch a new campaign, designed to encourage more young people to consider design engineering as a career. We know that engineering is not always the most diverse industry, so we want to work with local schools and colleges to introduce engineering as an option at an early stage to a wider audience.

As part of this campaign, we will be working closely with education providers to understand what would benefit them and their learners most. We have a dedicated outreach team that can offer:

  • Engineering workshops

  • Careers talks

  • Careers fairs

  • Employability skills sessions

Melissa Ballyn-Edwards, our Training and Development Co-Ordinator and member of our Outreach team, said: “Engineering is a brilliant career for those that want to help create a more sustainable world. We want to show these young people that engineering and the construction industry in general isn’t all muddy steel toe cap boots or being stuck behind a computer screen, there’s more to it.

“We need people with great communication skills, design skills, people who think outside the box and are passionate about designing a better world for people and for the environment. To make this industry the best it can be, we need a wide range of perspectives and skillsets, and that comes from a diverse workforce.”

Keith Terry, Associate Director, added: “At CPW, we want to create a truly inclusive environment, building on diversity; where all staff can flourish, have a sense of belonging, and are able to reach their full potential. We’re excited for this campaign and hope to build some great relationships with education providers that will help us welcome the next generation of engineers into the industry.”

We are looking for education providers who would like our support and encourage you to reach out for a discussion on what would best suit your students.

If you would like to find out more about the sessions we are offering, please get in touch.
