CPW Supports The Laura Centre with Essential Renovation Work

Our Leicester Team recently partnered with Leicestershire Cares, joining forces with their Community Development Team, to help with renovation work at The Laura Centre. This local organisation plays a vital role in providing support for grieving parents coping with the loss of a child.

The Laura Centre serves as a lifeline for those trying to reintegrate back into everyday life, offering a space to reconnect with loved ones while receiving the therapy and emotional support needed to navigate daily challenges. The centre supports clients in crucial areas such as interpersonal relationships, education, and employment.

Over the course of three days, our dedicated team volunteered their time to revamp the centre’s bathrooms. Utilising their DIY expertise, they engaged in painting, sanding, filling, and glossing. Homely touches, such as vases, pictures, plant pots, mirrors, and additional storage, were added to create a comforting and healing environment for visitors.

Ensuring a comfortable and welcoming space for The Laura Centre's clients was our top priority, and we take immense pride in contributing to such a meaningful project. We hope to see the centre continue its critical work in supporting the recovery of many families over the coming years.

John Hauton, our Director and Charity Lead, who participated in the project, shared: “It was a pleasure to be there in a nice, calm environment and support the Centre, which does such great and valuable work. Being able to contribute to a space that offers so much hope and healing was truly fulfilling. This project reminds us of the importance of community spirit and the difference we can make when we come together.”

Sandip Binning, CEO of The Laura Centre, expressed gratitude, saying: “Thank you so much for the incredible transformation of our bathroom… it ran very smoothly with minimal disruption, which is unheard of when we get volunteers in to do any work for us! We loved all the finishing touches!”
