The CPW way
We design buildings that come alive.
Our Story
We’re a friendly team of mechanical and electrical engineers, intent on bringing sustainable buildings to life through design.
Ultimately, we relish working collaboratively with our clients to solve their biggest problems. Through the application of research-led design, innovation, and sustainable methodologies we can create tailored solutions that meet the needs of our clients, whilst also being positive for the environment and delivering on net-zero carbon.
Fundamental to our practice is a global team of innovators, problem-solvers, creators, and thinkers who have helped design an array of progressive and sustainable buildings throughout the UK and beyond.
We’ve accumulated expertise across many sectors including; Healthcare, Education, Residential, Commercial, Infrastructure, Pharmaceutical, Blue Light, Sustainability and Public Buildings. To learn more, view our Case Studies.
Who are we?
In 1978 Tony Couch, Gordon Perry and Geoff Wilkes founded CPW as they set up operations in a small office in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Over 40 years later, and after a succession of growth periods, CPW has established a strong presence across the UK as an industry-leading mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and low carbon consultancy. Now counting offices in Nottingham, Leicester, Cambridge, Leeds, London, and Manchester, as well as an international presence in Poland and India.
Our Mission
Sustainability is part of our DNA. We are on a mission to design Zero-Carbon buildings that can sustain better lives for many generations. We are striving to raise the global standards of MEP whilst building better spaces and places for the world.
Values We Live By
At CPW we feel compelled to use our position of trust so that we can make positive differences through our work. To be successful, our moral compass and sense of social responsibility have to extend throughout everything we do as an organisation.
Our gender pay gap
As a business we are committed to improving the gender pay gap in not only our own business but across the construction industry.
With over 300 UK employees, 2023 is the second year CPW have reached the threshold to report our gender pay gap. We have seen positive progress so far and we have made a series of commitments to help reduce this further.
Our commitment to a better future
Social and charitable giving is at the heart of CPW as a business. Right across the company, from Leeds to London, our staff are engaging in difference-making charity events, client events and local education initiatives, helping protect the future of our industry, our communities and the environment.
Our commitment extends to running our own registered charity CPW4LIFE for which our team raises funds all year round. To discuss supporting our charity speak to one of our team.
