Vertical Transport
Optimising the flow of people through our buildings, through safe and efficient means.
Developing the right vertical transportation solution enables people to move safely and efficiently through buildings. Our vertical transport engineers have extensive experience within the lift and escalator industry, so we’re able to offer independent advice. We have technical expertise in: lift manufacturing, lift refurbishment, traffic analysis, mechanical and electrical design, project management, installation supervision and commissioning.
We provide services across all stages of projects and all types of lifts and escalators. Collectively, our capabilities provide clients with peace of mind and confidence to make the right decisions for their respective project.
Lift Surveys,
Inspections & Audits
We conduct full surveys, inspections and audits of existing lifts as well as being able to tailor services for specific project needs. Here are some of the surveys we offer:
Condition Surveys - these ascertain the technical details and condition of existing lifts and their compliance with current standards. Our detailed assessment identifies any repairs, refurbishment work, or if a complete lift replacement is required.
Acquisition and Dilapidation Surveys - detailed and objective surveys of the lifts prior to the purchase or sale of a building.
Performance Measurement Surveys - surveys of working lifts to count traffic flow in real time and measure lift performance with the view to improving the operational effectiveness.
Maintenance Audits - comprehensive audits of a lift portfolio, in order to establish the performance of the lift service provider.

Specifications - we produce full lift technical specifications tailored to meet project specific requirements.
Tender Process Support - advise potential lift suppliers to tender, and carry out a full technical and financial review of those tenders. Producing a tender report with our recommendations thereafter.
Project Management & Contract Administration - technical support and project management on projects including site start meetings and site monitoring visits during the lift installation and liaison with lift contractors.
Final Inspections & Witness Testing - final inspections and witness tests of completed lift works, we produce snagging reports and monitor the completion of snagging items by the lift contractor.
Defects Liability Period Inspections - we carry out DLP inspections at the end of the 12 month warranty period and produce a condition report.
BREEAM Assessments - assessments for new lift installations identifying which lift equipment is appropriate and most energy efficient. Then making recommendations based on energy efficient transportation criteria.
Featured project
CPW helped redevelop Paintworks on the River Avon, which is now considered one of Bristol's key creative hubs. Our team built 210 homes ranging from one and two bed apartments to two, three, and four-bed houses alongside 6,700m² of commercial space.
A stunning riverside promenade links to expansive pedestrian and cycle routes taking in the area’s natural beauty, and tall apartments along the north edge provide a picturesque vista over the river.
The entire development, formerly a Victorian paint factory, is constructed on a podium, allowing a network of places built with people in mind - from dynamic public plazas and pedestrianised streets to courtyards and alleyways, with car parking securely tucked away underneath.
