Waterside Campus

Client: University of Northampton

Our Approach

The University of Northampton engaged CPW on this bold and ambitious project to build a completely new campus to attract world-class students - and provide an exciting and dynamic new riverside student village for them to live, learn, and thrive.

An new energy centre has been placed at the heart of the development, providing low-carbon heating and electricity to the entire site using biomass boilers and CHP.

Academic buildings utilise a mixed mode ventilation system coupled with exposed thermal mass and night purging to cool the spaces without the energy penalty of chillers.

Lighting systems, including external and street lighting, use efficient lamp sources and operate on sophisticated demand controls.

“They displayed a very high level of technical competence, sound commercial judgement and remained well motivated and proactive throughout the project.

We would not have had such a good project outcome without them.

I have no hesitation in recommending their services to others.”
