CPW charity day raises money for local causes

This year, CPW have decided to dedicate two working days to charity, closing all our offices to give our staff the chance to do good in their local communities and support causes that matter to them.

These days can be used to raise funds or spend time volunteering for a worthy cause, with the Directors agreeing to match any funds raised.

On 19 May, our teams set out for their first charity day of the year raising a whopping £3,765 for a variety of causes and spending over 653 hours volunteering. It was amazing to see our staff embrace this opportunity so wholeheartedly, benefitting a wide array of organisations.

Our team were involved in a range of activities including:

  • litter picking in city centres and along the canals

  • a tabletop sale and coffee morning

  • ground maintenance and gardening for schools, care centres and charities

  • painting visitor centres

  • donating and volunteering at food banks

  • charity car washes

  • a charity pool tournament

John Hauton, Director and charity lead at CPW, said: “As a company with offices across the UK, we want to ensure we make a difference in all our local regions and give back to the communities that have supported us to flourish in the area. We also felt it was important to give teams the opportunity to select a cause that matters to them.

“We want to thank all our staff for making this such a success, it was inspiring to see the passion with which our teams tackled their activities and we loved discovering the personal connections many of our staff had to these charities and causes.”

We are expecting our next charity day to take place in Autumn with staff encouraged to start thinking now about which local charities may need our help next. Well done team!
